Bloomberg.com reported on September 26, 2025, that Apple Inc. has developed a ChatGPT-like iPhone application to help test a long-anticipated overhaul of its virtual assistant, Siri. [3] The internal app, code-named “Veritas,” is being used by employees to evaluate new capabilities and provide feedback on the chatbot format. [1, 2, 3] Apple does not currently plan to release the testing application to the public. [1, 2, 5]
The tool allows engineers to more efficiently test features such as searching through a user's personal data like emails and messages, or executing in-app actions like editing a photo. [1, 2] Veritas is described as resembling other popular chatbots, with the ability to manage multiple topics and reference past conversations. [3, 5] After facing previous technical delays, the redesigned Siri is now expected to launch as early as March 2026. [7]
