Bill Burr Eyed for 'Social Network' Sequel

The Hollywood Reporter reported on September 25, 2025, that comedian Bill Burr is in talks to join the cast for Sony Pictures’ “The Social Network Part II.” [1, 2, 4] Aaron Sorkin, who won an Academy Award for writing the 2010 original, is returning to write and will also direct the new film. [2, 11] The sequel will be based on The Wall Street Journal's "The Facebook Files" series, which examined the company's knowledge of the negative effects of its platform, the spread of misinformation, and its connection to the January 6th Capitol riot.
