Typhoon Kali Ravages Philippines, Toll Rises
Typhoon Kali, also known as Kalmaegi or Tino, has caused widespread devastation across the central Philippines, leading to at least 140 fatalities and 127 missing, making it the deadliest natural disaster globally this year. In response to the catastrophic impact on nearly 2 million people, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. declared a state of national calamity to expedite emergency funds and facilitate crucial relief and rehabilitation efforts.
